Authentic & Romantic Photography
Hi, my name is
Cherise
Lifestyle
storyteller
I was born and raised in Fairbanks, AK, and my Koyukon Athabascan heritage is integral to my identity. “Denaa” means “Our People” in my language, reflecting my deep connection to my roots.
I earned my B.A. from Stanford University and my M.P.A. from the University of Alaska Southeast. I am currently a PhD student in Indigenous Studies with UAF. Since 2015, I’ve been dedicated to capturing genuine moments through my camera. Based in Valdez, AK, I’ve focused on photographing families and couples since 2020.
I also have a poodle mix named Tazlina, inspired by the Tazlina Glacier and River. She’s always up for a game of frisbee and a cozy cuddle after our hikes.
I’m passionate about landscape photography. I constantly seek out dramatic lighting and intriguing scenes. Check out my Instagram to see some of my favorite shots.
